Uroko Art Museum, Ijinkan, Kobe

Uroko House (Uroko no ie) and Uroko Museum are located in Ijinkan, the famous area of foreign residences in Kobe. I mentioned Ijinkan in the posts on 14 and 15 August.

It is also called the Fish Scale House because of its outer look, and it is a Registered Cultural Property of Japan. The view from its third floor over Kobe City is superb. The museum exhibits paintings by Auguste Renoir, Henri Matisse, Maurice Utrillo.

Apart from British and German objects, there is also this royal sled, made of walnut trees and used by the Denmark royal family in the late 18th century.
