Traditional Breakfast In Japan

There are various dishes, some that we would probably never have for breakfast outside Japan - such as fish. Everything on colourful plates, for a healthy and pleasant start of the day. ( ^ _ ^ )

Umeboshi - pickled plums - on the left. Delicious! I love umeboshi.

Making onigiri, a dish presented on 8 September:

Miso soup, present almost daily on a Japanese table:

You may know fugu, the (in)famous poisonous blowfish. Though a skilled cook can turn it into a delicacy.

It is always surprising in Japan how the many plates on the table are all different. Outside Japan, there would be a (now boring) set of same plates.
