Mitarashi Dango, Kyoto

It is still impossible to upload photos on Blogger. I hope the problem will be solved soon. So just a short post today, and since yesterday I mentioned kibidango of Okayama, tonight I will show you another type of dango. There are many types of dango in fact, hailing from different areas of Japan. There is even a hairstyle called odango, with two such buns on both sides of the head.
Mitarashi dango is a type of dango on skewers, usually five dumplings, and covered with soy sauce. It originates from Shimogamo area in Kyoto. The rice dumplings are boiled, then grilled and glazed with soy sauce.
